2015 VALENTINE'S DAY CHALLENGE: ROSES

Hello ladies,

I haven't been much around yesterday, cuz I wasn't feeling good, but I back now! I am showing you today my entry for the day 5 of the Valentine's Day challenge, hosted by Theodora and Kaki. The topic is ROSES. Firstly I wanted to do some vintage roses again, but then I thought of something more springish. I love spring, my birthday is in spring, everything feels so nice and cute in spring. So I have chosen some pastel colours, since they represent the spring the best, and did some gradient and watermarble! :) Here is a sneak peak - read more after the jump!

I have been playing with watermarble decals two days ago, since I planed this manicure carefully, and just didn't want to fail in the end! The watermarble on my ring finger is done as a decal - same procedure as for the regular watermarble technique, only without digging your fingers in water! I have made only one small decal to fit to two of my nails. Enough, because I planed gradient for the rest of the nails. Polishes I have used for the watermarble are Picture Polish - Tiffany, China Glaze - Tart-y For The Party and Lemon Fizz and Sally Hansen - Peach of Cake. The pastel yellow isn't really visible, but it is there! :)

Then followed the gradient. I applied firstly one coat of Catrice Brightening Base Coat. Then I did a usual gradient with a fan brush (I am not using a sponge - promise to do a tutorial, just waiting for a tri-pood for my camera) using Picture Polish - Tiffany, China Glaze - Tart-y For The Party and Sally Hansen - Peach of Cake. I applied one coat of Poshe over it.

Then I stamped different rose designs using my Mundo de Unas - Pastell Yellow. Stamping plates used are MoYou Festive Plate 20 (middle finger), MoYou Mother Nature Plate 13 (pinkie finger) and Pet'la Plate Dandelion 2 (index and thumb). I finished the manicure with one coat of OPI Matte Top Coat.

A bit unusual Valentine's Day manicure, but this gradient is certainly one of my favourites! I am so happy that this technique works so perfectly. They always turn out so well! The roses turned out a bit brighter than I thought they will, but I like it anyway! :)

<3 Stay polished <3

  2. Wow, I love this so much. It should be named spring essence. Can't wait for the fan brush tutorial.
