DOCTOR LACQUER - KALEIDOSCOPE WORLD COLLECTION SWATCHES

//Provided For Honest Review//
Morning guys!

Today I have a picture heavy post for you, since I have swatched some of the holo pretties from the Doctor Lacquer - Kaleidoscope World Collection. My package arrived on Monday, but unfortunately I didn't have enough time to do all the swatching before, because the package encluded 9 polishes, of which 8 are from this collection. I received one multichrome as well, which will be swatched next week.

Anyway, Angelyn from Doctor Lacquer did a great job with this collection, because it it very unique. Although I am missing two polishes from this collection (but I will definitely get them in the future), I must say this is my favorite holo collection so far. Reason: bright colors, of which I am a great fan + the formula. Most of the holos get thick very fast when the bottle is opened for some time, but these ones don't. They appear to be a bit sheer on the first sight, but are very easy to build on. All in all - superb!

In order not to make this post a text heavy as well, lets move to the photos! :)

Carotene (holo) - is a super bright neon yellow linear holographic nail polish. It is named after an orange photosynthetic pigment. This polish is very unique, since I haven't seen a neon yellow holo so far. All the yellows on the market appear to be more gold than yellow, but this one doesn't. This one is really yellow. The formula is great, just as I stated above. It dried really fast and it is very easy to build on it. It dries a bit satin, so don't forget to add a top coat to make it more shinny. I used three coats for the pictures below.

Lycopene (holo) - is a bright neon orange linear holographic nail polish, named after a bright red pigment, which is found in human blood. Sounds scary, right? :) But the polish itself is amazing! Again an unique color, since most of the oranges out there turn more nude when applied, but this one is really neon orange. I had no problems with the application, although this polish was the only one from this collection that got a bit thick while applying. It is also very easy to build on it and dries very fast to a slightly satin finish, so make sure to use a top coat, because it doesn't dull the holo effect! :) I used three thin coats.

Annatto (holo) - is a unique holo hot pink in its own right. It is very bright, although in the bottle looks a bit pastel. It is named after a coloring and flavoring pigment commonly used in Caribbean and Latin America. The holo effect in this one isn't that strong, but just enough to make this polish special as well. The formula was great, also a bit sheer, but opaque in three thin coats. I had no troubles with the application. Use a top coat to make it more shinny, because it dries to a slightly satin finish.

Hemoglobin (holo) - is a magenta linear holographic nail polish. It carries the name after the oxygen carrying, iron-containing pigment and predominant protein which is present in blood cells. Great color. Not too pink, not too purple. Perfect! Love the holo effect of this one. It was very easy to wotk with, because it has a good formula just like its brothers and sisters from this collection. It dries fast to a slightly satin finish so use a top coat in order to protect your manicure and make it shinny! It was a bit more opaque than the others, so I used two coats for the pictures below!

Direct artificial light

Phycocyanin (holo) - is a neon blue linear holographic nail polish. It was named after a pigment that can be found only in blue-green algae. Interesting! :) Well, this is probably not the most neon blue I have seen, but I like its color and the holo effect anyway. The color itself looks a bit more pastel than neon, and the holo isn't that strong, but definitely much more visible in person, than I could capture with my camera. Both the formula and the application were great, and it was opaque in three thin coats. Because it dries to a satin finish, use a top coat.

Direct artificial light

Chlorophyll (holo) - is a neon green linear holographic nail polish, named after the pigment which is found in plants. In person the color is a bit darker than in the photos, but I had some troubles with the lightning, because I was turning on and off my camera and the light couple of times, since my kid woke up three times while I was swatching. Love the color, although I am not really a green fan, and the holo effect. The application was smooth and it dried really fast to a satin finish. It was opaque in three thin coats.

Lutein (holo) - is a neon lime green linear holographic nail polish. It is named after a natural pigment found in leafy vegetables and some fruits. This one is very bright, and probably know you can not see the difference between this one and the Chlorophyll, but if you put the pictures one to another, you will see what I am talking about. The holo isn't that strong, but the color makes you to forget that! :) Formula is great, the application was very ease. It is easy to build on it as well. I used three coats for the pictures below.

Refraction - is a versatile topper fully packed with rainbow-colored neon hexes in a clear base. It is named after a process, in which the white light separates into its constituent wavelengths. This polish is perfect to brighten your manicure. It can be used like a colorful topper, or just to make an accent or a gradient. Definitely an interesting nail polish. The formula is good and I didn't have any trouble placing the glitters in the way I wanted. I applied it over Color Club - Harp On It and used only one coat, and my ring finger is done like a gradient - I just sponged some glitters on it.

We came to the end of this picture heavy post. I must admit, that I have refreshed my biology and physics knowledge pretty well! :) I like the way in which the names are given to the polishes. Great idea, Angelyn. All in all, perfect summer collection. Neon + holographic = LOVE! I think that says enough. I hope to get my hands on the remaining two polishes from this collection soon! :)
